Summary
As a Technical Buyer at Suncom, you play a critical role in ensuring our innovative renewable energy projects are delivered with the right quality, cost structure, and supply continuity. This is a blended role that combines hands-on project purchasing with tactical sourcing and procurement improvement. You take ownership of project purchasing activities from RFQ and supplier selection to purchase order follow-up, expediting, and delivery risk management. Working closely with project execution, suppliers, and R&D, you ensure procurement activities support successful project delivery and supplier qualification for new products. By doing so, you help Suncom deliver projects reliably and ensure the quality and scalability of our SunFleet.
Responsibilities
Project Procurement & Expediting
- Procure components and services in line with technical and commercial requirements.
- Collaborate with project execution to align procurement activities with project planning and technical requirements.
- Proactively follow up on supplier orders, secure delivery commitments, and resolve risks before they impact site installation.
- Manage purchasing spend within project budgets, balancing cost, quality, lead time, and delivery risk.
Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Source and select suppliers in line with technical, commercial, and project requirements.
- Manage RFQs, evaluate quotations, and drive supplier selection decisions.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
- Build supplier relationships that support reliable performance, quality, and responsiveness.
Standardization & Improvement
- Develop scalable and standardized procurement processes, tools, and templates, using automation and AI to improve efficiency as Suncom grows.
- Identify and drive improvements in project procurement, supplier management, and expediting processes.
What we are looking for
- 2+ years of relevant experience in technical buying, procurement, or supply chain preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or deep-tech environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a relevant field is preferred.
- Commercial awareness and confidence in supplier negotiations.
- Proactive and structured in following up on supplier orders, securing delivery commitments, and resolving supply risks.
- Able to balance cost, quality, lead time, and risk while building strong supplier relationships.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
