Process Engineer

Summary

As a Process Engineer at Suncom, your main responsibility is the design, integration and commissioning of plants for customers. You will do this by integrating multiple components, e.g., the connection of the solar field – comprising reflectors and receivers – with the Thermal Energy Storage (TES) and the Power Block, as well as taking into account customers’ requirements. Together with our partners, you will make sure that the solar energy is captured, stored, and released as heat and or electricity setup. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to analyze and improve existing processes, identify opportunities for innovation, and ensure the highest levels of efficiency and performance of our systems.

What we are looking for
  • Education: Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering or related fields
  • Work experience: >3 years in a relevant field
  • An interest in renewable energy and the underlying market dynamics
  • Affinity with both theoretical and applied/practical work
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines
  • Interested in traveling abroad to test, install and commission our product
  • An entrepreneurial team player, motivated to help us grow our company into a worldwide operating renewable energy technology provider
Responsibilities
  • Design optimal configurations for customer plants by:
    • Efficiently integrating multiple components, e.g. designing the connection of the solar field – comprising reflectors and receivers – with the Thermal Energy Storage (TES) and the Power Block
    • Translating customers’ heat and/or electricity requirements to project requirements
    • Analyzing and improving processes to ensure the highest level of efficiency and performance
  • Set up and own engineering documents, like:
    • Process Flow Diagram (PFD)
      • Heat and Mass Balance (H&MB)
      • Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)
      • Hazardous Operations (HAZOP)
      • Piping diagrams, line lists etc.
      • Plant layout
  • Collaborating in procurement of main equipment, like:
    • Thermal energy storage
    • Process equipment and components (e.g. pumps, valves, piping)
    • Steam boiler o Steam turbine (future)
