Summary
As an E,C&I Engineer at Suncom, your main responsibility is the integration of the entire plant from an Electrical and Instrumentation view. You will make sure that all components and instrumentation work together flawlessly by designing the E,C&I architecture that controls the Solar Field (SF) – comprising of reflectors and receivers –, the Thermal Energy Storage (TES), and in a later stage the Power Block (PB). Together with our partners, you will ensure that the solar energy is captured, stored, and released as heat and/or electricity as efficiently as possible. Your work will directly help to solve the need for time-independent and affordable renewable energy.

Your responsibilities
- Engineering design in accordance with established design standards and criteria for the project, including:
- Checking and approval of finished drawings for full compliance with the intent of the design, specifications, and quality requirements all in accordance with drawing checklists.
- Approving drawings in the capacity of Engineer when required. o Revision coordination across disciplines and control by clear instructions to the design team and approval of such revisions per change procedures.
- Pre-selection of equipment types to suit the project and final selection of actual equipment to be used, following the bid evaluation process.
- Preparation of the technical content of inquiry documentation, typically including a scope description, technical specification, drawings, datasheets, and Bills of Quantity (BOQ).
- Generate and maintain equipment schedules, BOQ, Material Take Offs (MTOs), and monitoring against financial budgets.
- Ensuring that all E,C&I documentation is prepared, circulated, approved, transmitted, and filed in accordance with procedures.
- The handling of site queries and providing site support as necessary. • Compile commissioning, operating, and maintenance manuals for the E,C&I.
- Audits, inspections, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- On-site commissioning (oversight) activities as required.
- Design of Electrical and Instrumentation Schematics.
- PLC, HMI, and SCADA software development.
- Generating functional design specifications and EC&I design criteria.
Minimum requirements
- BSc/MSc, or BEng/MEng in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar.
- About 3 or more years’ experience as a Control, and Instrumentation Design Engineer.
- Experience with Control, and Instrumentation work relating to energy, including feasibility studies, basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement, construction quality assurance, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems, Variable Speed Drives (VSD), and basic power reticulation.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Emerson or GE is a pre.
- E-plan knowledge is a pre.
- Experience with Instrumentation, ASi Bus system is a pre.
